Pennsylvania Measles Outbreak Claims Fifth Death; All Five Unvaccinated

A Lancaster County resident became Pennsylvania's fifth measles-associated death of 2026 as the state outbreak reached 943 cases. The numbers make vaccination—not a jurisdictional argument—the central public-health fact.

The outbreak has now produced 943 confirmed cases across 39 counties, up from 903 earlier in the week. Only four of those 943 infections were reported in vaccinated people. Pennsylvania is the hardest-hit state in the 2026 U.S. measles resurgence, while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had reported 3,659 confirmed cases nationwide as of September 24.

Gaza Strike Wave: Israeli Attacks Kill Civilians as Ceasefire Toll Mounts

Israeli strikes hit Gaza City, Jabalia, Deir al-Balah and Rafah on Tuesday, medics said. Casualty reports differ by source as the truce death toll climbs.

The most carefully supportable account is also the least dramatic one: several Palestinians were reported killed across multiple incidents, but the available reports do not establish a single verified daywide total. QNA, carried by Fana News, reported eight deaths since dawn. Spain's Demócrata, citing the Palestinian outlet Filastín, reported five. Reuters, carried by TBS News in its report on the Al-Beik strike, corroborated a Jabalia clinic-area attack and gave a day toll of three. Each figure is presented here with its attribution; none is adopted as the final count.
