Accuracy and sourcing
Every claim in our reporting must be traceable to evidence: official statements, documents, eyewitness accounts, expert analysis or verified data. We prefer primary sources, we describe sourcing where it matters to the reader’s judgment, and we do not present single-source claims as established fact. Figures are dated; fixed snapshots are labeled so they cannot be mistaken for live data.
Corrections
When we get something materially wrong, we correct it promptly and visibly, as described in our corrections policy. Minor typographical fixes may be made silently; anything affecting meaning is noted.
Reporting on war and conflict
War reporting at Signal Post News is neutral. We do not take sides between belligerents. Claims by governments, militaries and combatants are attributed — “Russia says,” “Ukraine reports,” “the Pentagon states” — and casualty figures or territorial claims that cannot be independently verified are described as claimed, not confirmed. Civilian harm is reported with the same care regardless of where it occurs.
Fact, analysis and opinion
News stories report verified facts. Analysis interprets those facts — explaining what they mean, who wins and loses, and what may happen next — and is always distinguishable from straight reporting. We publish analysis, not opinion columns presented as news; where judgment is offered, its basis is shown.
Use of artificial intelligence
AI tools may assist with research, transcription and drafting, but every published article is written, checked and approved by a human editor who takes responsibility for it. AI-generated text is never published unreviewed, and AI-generated imagery is never used as news photography.
Images and photography
We publish real photographs only, each with a credit and license. File photographs are labeled as such and never presented as images of the event being reported. We do not crop images in ways that mislead, and we do not publish graphic imagery whose news value does not justify its harm.
