What Scripture says — and what the ground is doing today.
Earthquakes appear throughout the biblical narrative as signs of divine power and as markers of the last days. In Jesus’ discourse on the Mount of Olives, they are listed among the birth pains that precede the end of the age.
“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”— Matthew 24:7
Revelation’s visions repeatedly describe quakes of cosmic scale, and the book of Acts records a quake that shook a prison’s foundations.
“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.”— Revelation 6:12
“And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”— Acts 16:26
